John Edwards

John Edwards’ executive career spans a period of 35 years, during which he has held a range of senior roles in the U.K. insurance and investment sectors. These roles include CEO of a leading U.K. life, pensions and investment group and CEO of the insurance and investment division of one of the major U.K. banks. In these roles he has lead significant change programmes and organic and inorganic growth strategies. His non U.K. experience includes CEO and Executive Chairman roles in several European insurance and investment companies.

John is currently the Non Executive Chairman of a U.K. building society and a Non Executive Director of a leading U.K. insurer.

 

Willis T. King

An experienced insurance and reinsurance executive, Willis T. King was co-founder of a global reinsurer Alterra Capital and its predecessor MaxRe. He founded Global Capital Re together with Goldman Sachs and Johnson & Higgins, and served in various executive positions at Highlands Insurance Group, Guy Carpenter & Co., and Wilcox, Inc. Mr. King also serves as the Executive Chairman of First Protective Insurance Company and Fidelity Fire, and was the former Chairman of the Board at ACA Financial Guaranty Corporation. He holds both a B.S and M.S. from Cornell University.

 

Paul Sharma

Paul Sharma is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal with more than 20 years of experience as a top UK, EU and global regulator of insurance companies. He is also co-head of the firm’s Financial Industry Regulatory Advisory Services practice in London. He was formerly Deputy Head of the UK’s Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA)—the UK’s insurance regulator. A chartered UK accountant and an Honorary Fellow of the UK Faculty and Institute of Actuaries, Mr. Sharma served on the Executive Board of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) and chaired the joint Risk Committee of the three European Supervisory Authorities (insurance, banking and securities). He holds a master’s degree in mathematics from Cambridge University.
