Lord James Blyth has served in senior positions in both the public and private sectors in the UK. He was Chairman of Diageo plc, the world’s leading premium drinks business, from 2000 to 2008. He is currently a Senior Advisor to Greenhill & Co Inc, having been Vice-Chairman; and is a Director of Anixter Inc.
Lord Blyth joined The Boots Company PLC in October 1987 as Chief Executive and became Chairman in 1998. He retired from this position in July 2000.
From July 1991 until the General Election in May 1997, he served as Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Advisory Panel on the Citizen’s Charter. He was a Governor of the London Business School from 1987 until 1996 and was made an Honorary Fellow in July 1997. He was made an Honorary Doctor of Laws by Nottingham University in July 1992.
He has been a non-executive director of The Imperial Group, Cadbury Schweppes, British Aerospace and Nat West Group. He was Vice-Chairman of MiddleBrook Pharmaceuticals Inc.
Lord Blyth was educated at Spiers School and Glasgow University M.A. (Hons). He was knighted in 1985 and awarded a life peerage in 1995.

Andrew Cook has more than 30 years of financial and operational experience having started his career as a Chartered Accountant in Toronto. As the founding CFO of three startup reinsurance entities in Bermuda, he was responsible for all capital markets activities including debt and equity financing, investor relations and M&A. He has a proven track record of bringing private companies to the public markets having lead successful IPO’s at LaSalle Re and Axis Capital. He was also instrumental in the structuring of the merger of Harbor Point Limited into Alterra Capital. At Alterra Capital, he served as the Chief Integration Officer and was responsible for implementing corporate synergies as well as the financial, tax, regulatory and the capital structure integrations. Prior to Alterra’s sale to Markel Corporation he served as President of Alterra Bermuda Limited.

Beth Schneider-DeGroat has over 28 years of experience in human resources in the insurance business. Currently SVP Global HR and Administration of GreyCastle, Beth previously served as Senior Vice President, Director of Global Human Resources for Alterra Capital (formally Max Capital Group). Previously, Beth provided interim human resource services and independent consulting at Schneider-DeGroat Consulting from 2001 – 2007, and was Vice President, Compensation & Benefits and Executive Matters of Orion Capital Companies, from 1992 to 2000.
Beth has a BS, BA Human Resource Management from Western New England College.

Neil Russell has more than 25 years of life insurance and actuarial experience with 13 years in life reinsurance with XL Re Life, initially as CFO and most recently leading the Life team and driving the development of strategy for the life reinsurance business. Prior to XL Neil worked in the life actuarial consulting practice of Ernst & Young, having previously spent ten years in various life insurance roles at Royal Sun Alliance. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.
John Cordey has more than 23 years life insurance and actuarial experience. Most recently he has spent over 10 years at XL Re, the last five as Chief Actuary for the Life Reinsurance team. John’s role included financial reporting, reserving, risk and capital management. Prior to joining XL Re he has worked for both General Re and Bacon and Woodrow. John is a graduate of Cambridge University with an MA in mathematics. He is a fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
